avid hotel Memphis - Southaven by IHG

Needed a room late night early morning Sunday. Was absolutely exhausted and could not drive any more. Went to a few other hotels that denied us a room due to my license state. Upon arrival at Avid we were greeted by a very nice young lady. Dark skinned, curly hair and glasses (too tired to remember name); Very nice and check in with her was quick and efficient. We forgot our toothbrush and toothpaste and she gave us those items free of charge. Being that we checked in the wee hours we needed more sleep. Called downstairs that morning and spoke with Jennifer and she allowed us to get a late checkout. Still ended up sleeping a little over the time and she was still super pleasant! Of course we apologized but her customer service was 10/10! We thanked her again on the way out and she asked again if there was anything else we needed and told us to enjoy our day. May not seem like a lot but most places nowadays have the worst customer service. Will definitely be back! Maybe next weekend!

Excellent stay! This is a mid-range priced hotel. Very modern design and decor. Clean and bright with open spaces. The room was cleverly designed to make good use of space. Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was spacious, however the room I was in only had a shower, so if you have young children, ask if they have any with tubs. Breakfast had a big variety and was generous. Easy on and off of the highway and very close to Memphis. Most of all, the customer service received by Marcus was EXCELLENT. He went above and beyond to accommodate the special needs of my grandson who has autism. Thank you so much!

Stayed here for two nights while visiting family in the area. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. Good shower and fine bathroom. Friendly staff and affordable price. The fire alarm went off twice the second night due to someone smoking in a room on the third floor. Not the hotel’s fault, but it was confusing and what was going on could have been better communicated. Also, the placement of the fire alarm in my room meant that I saw its little flashing light all night. Wish I could have covered it.

I highly recommend this hotel. Very easy to find, parking lot was spacious enough to not feel cramped. Inside was very clean. Every one of the staff members we encountered was not only professional, but extremely personable. Even the other customers were super nice. I couldn't ask for a better hotel experience.

The hotel was very nice, clean, and bright. I also loved that there were no carpets in the room! All the staff we talked to were so nice and helpful. The girl at the desk in the evening gave a great recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner since the hotel is surrounded by chain restaurants. In the morning, Shirley in the breakfast area was awesome and Makyla I think was her name at the front desk was so sweet. Only complaints were that 1. the shower could have been cleaned a little better. the corners were a little dirty and 2. we received a phone call from the front desk at 12:30 am that they got a call that someone was smoking in our room. We DO NOT smoke so this was concerning. When I talked to the front desk in the morning, I was told that the smoke detectors are very sensitive and can go off at the slightest thing and the room we stayed in was allegedly notorious for the alarm going off. This should be looked into more because we had gotten to the hotel around 7ish after a day of tours and a 6 hour drive. Being woke up at 12:30am and accused of smoking in the room was not okay.

I came to this hotel after a bad experience with a hotel in Germantown. I picked the right place this time. The hotel is modern and minimal. It's very clean. The beds are comfy. Plenty of restaurants around the area as well as places to shop. Location seems safe as well. Staff is very friendly.

Very updated, modern and cool. Simple, but have a lot of ingenious little pieces. Very comfortable beds. Very large and updated bathroom. The staff was outstanding. We would definitely stay here again.
